Children and Young People told us they wanted to be able to influence decision making that impacts on them, at all levels.
The Voice Process is one element of the implementation of our Children & Young People's Participation Strategy, and should be used in tandem with the Involving C&YP in Decisions that Affect Them: A Guide for Practitioners tool. It seeks to give children a route directly in to the Integrated Children's Services Board, and it's Delivery Groups.
Children are able to feed in ideas for things that can be improved, or though participatory work with practitioners, they can reach into the board and the delivery groups to ask for advice and guidance on projects that they wish to undertake to improve things for their peers.
Th Process also helps the board and it's delivery groups to consider how to 'reach out' to children and young people, considering whether children have already answered the questions that they may be seeking answers to (children told us to stop asking them the same questions!).
This will be supported by our Library of Voices tool.
The process itself requires the child (if general feedback for improvement, or the practitioner (if requesting project advice and guidance), to complete an MS Form . This form will be reviewed and passed to the board or relevant delivery group to consider and respond. Further detail is included on the poster and within the form about how feedback can be expected.
